How Dynamic Chiropractic Eliminates Neck Pain in Arlington, TX

Ah, why do I always have neck pain? If this is you, you’re not alone. In fact, 20% of the population has or has had neck pain—making it the third leading cause of disability worldwide.

So whether you’re young and constantly looking down at your phone, or older with poor posture and wear-and-tear from sitting like this—chiropractic care can help you. And in this video, we’re going to explain exactly how.

How Misalignments Cause Neck Pain

Using this spine model, let’s break it down. When your neck is misaligned, the vertebrae shift out of place and begin to put pressure on the nervous system. This leads to tight muscles, inflammation, and pain. Another issue we look for is called fixation—that’s when the vertebrae stop moving properly.

Both subluxations (misalignments) and fixations are common causes of neck pain—and they’re exactly what chiropractic care is designed to correct. Remember, symptoms like pain or stiffness are just signals. Our goal is to address the root cause.

What to Expect as a New Patient

Let me walk you through what a new patient experience looks like in our office.

After you complete your paperwork, you’ll enter our consultation room, where we’ll go over your health history in detail before beginning the physical exam. From there, we’ll head into the exam room.

The Exam: Finding the Cause

In the exam room, we’ll start with a thorough chiropractic evaluation. You’ll lie down on the table while I palpate, or feel, your neck, checking for any nodules, swelling, or areas of concern.

Next, we’ll do a posture check. Ideally, your ear and shoulder should be aligned, and your neck should have a healthy natural curve, like this chart shows. Unfortunately, many people today—especially younger and middle-aged individuals—have what’s known as “tech neck.” That’s when the neck becomes straight or even reversed due to prolonged phone or computer use.

Why Neck Curvature Matters

When your neck is too far forward or loses its curve, it puts excess pressure on the discs between each vertebra. That can irritate the nerves that exit the spine, causing symptoms like pain, numbness, or tingling in the arms, and even headaches.

Using X-Rays for Precise Diagnosis

Lastly, we’ll take digital X-rays to get a clear picture of what’s going on inside. We’ll take side and front views, as well as some images while you move your neck forward and backward, so we can see how each vertebra is moving—or not moving.

If we identify areas where motion is restricted or the alignment is off, we’ll develop a customized adjustment plan to help correct the issue.

Thanks for watching! We look forward to helping you find real, lasting relief from your neck pain. We’ll see you at your next visit—and until then, take care!
